Chantaclair's
Musings
The month of March always makes me think
of magical things, Perhaps the influence of my Irish forefathers, or the
red hair which turns me to Celtic myths and thoughts of Leprechauns and
Rainbows and wondrous magical possibilities.
Magic is, after all, only that which we don not
currently understand. Miracles are close to that, wonderful happenings
in our lives that turn our thoughts beyond the impossible day to day of
our lives to a moment when we can imagine that just maybe... there *is*
a pot of gold at the end of that double rainbow.
Reality can be a harsh place, without rainbows
and mysterious tiny men who are reluctant but always ready to grant a wish
or play a trick.
My Brother brought home a bit of the blarney
stone from Ireland. Sometimes I like to just hold it. . . and
imagine that somehow, someway, everything will be all right . . . and sometimes
. . . it is.

Tip for the week
~
For those ugly weeds that spring up between cracks
in sidewalks and bricks, forget the expensive round-up, and just pour salty
boiling water over them, they'll disappear in no time.

Your Money
Petco Animal Supplies (PETC: Nasdaq)
Petco Animal Supplies may climb in Friday trading after the
company posted results ahead of expectations after the close Thursday.
Fourth quarter earnings came in at 52 cents a share while analysts had
expected earnings of 47 cents. Petco earned 37 cents a share in the
year ago period. The company attributes the strong showing to a 14% jump
in store sales during the quarter.

In The Know
Possibly the only national holiday that is given recognition
outside it's native land is St. Patrick's Day. This is a clear indication
on the Irish influence thought the world. For instance in the United States,
though not a national holiday, March 17th is recognized in many communities
and cities. Everything from parades, to the 'wearing of the green' , to
serving green beer (they really add green colouring to it!) to some places
going as far as dying rivers green, mark the holiday of Ireland's patron
saint. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. Almost
all businesses, with the exception of restaurants and pubs, close on the
17th of March. Being a religious holiday as well, many attend mass, where
it is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries throughout
the world, before the serious celebrating begins in earnest.
So who exactly was St. Patrick? And what does the shamrock
have to do with St. Patrick's Day? Click on the shamrock and spend a few

back in time to explore the legend of St. Patrick . . .

~Fistful~
A fist filled with dandelions
A face smudged and damp.
A smile beaming with innocence
A body needing a nap.
A mother with much to do
A child with a lazy afternoon
A day's lackluster passing
A moment gone too soon.
"I brought you something mom"
"I picked them all myself"
"I thought you would like
them mom"
"B'sides I think I saw an elf!"
A busy mother stops her chore
To look closely at her boy
The day transformed suddenly
From dull to a fistful of joy.

Sharing:
Ok, I'll start this section off... I thought perhaps I'd leave a space
for personal one or two line announcements from those who belong to this
community of Ezine pursuers. If you have something you wish to announce,
ask prayers in behalf of, or a link to share, I'll consider posting them
in this space. Please keep it brief and one or two lines thanks.
I'll start it out with a personal <gulp> Sharing...
