Sandra ~ Innocence Abounding
ORDER HERE

The the last flickers of light empassioned the darkness with a surreal glow. Her form
could just be vaugely seen in the outline of the glistening overhang of branches.  How
often had she wandered past this very spot and lingered? Two dozen, three?  Her hair
was like spun oynx in the half light, her sillouette took imagination on a ride that would
take hours to recover from... she turned... as if to speak, but the words failed. What had
they to speak about? She was returning to her people. She had never been one of his,
and never would be. Whatever was left of Forinda, she would make her home.
Nausea swept over her once again. In a way it was a relief to be going from this place where she  felt so unnecessary, yet in other ways. . .
Her eyes met KelJan's  for perhaps the last time, at least in a long while.  If there had
ever been glimpses of something deeper between them, the night veiled it even now. She
saw nothing but cool detatchment and turned her fact towards her future.  Forinda would
heal her, surely the earth that birthed her could sooth her crushed spirit and heal the
wounds  that were given in the house of her own family.   She ran her fingertip over the
twisted pearl on her breast.  It was generations of family, this bit of jewelry.  Looking away,
                     she spoke softly,

"To Forinda."
